The main goal of using CAST Aircraft is to reduce cost for investments and operations, to speed up the decision making process and to guarantee smooth, safe and punctual operations. Central part of a CAST Aircraft model is the 3D infrastructure and environment including all relevant airside elements. Like in reality the CAST Aircraft traffic is generated using a central flight schedule data base. Delays and schedule deviations can be considered based on probabilities. The optional stand allocation module receives all flight information and individually allocates aircraft stands. Several restrictions and priorities may be defined. Operational concepts define how aircraft are taxiing and how runways are used. It is possible to define detailed rules or use default settings for the routing. The airspace and runway operations are based on ATC rules and consider e.g. wake vortex and radar separations, runway occupancy times, departure separation and the individual properties of an aircraft. The included comprehensive 3D visualisation does not only support an efficient use and analysis but also is an essential feature in order to provide meaningful presentations of results to customers and convince decision makers.
