Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document introduces 'THE CORSET', a patented wing configuration control system by Air Création, designed to enhance the maneuverability and performance of flexwing aircraft across a wide range of speeds.
Challenges with Fixed Geometry Wings
1. Responsiveness Issues: Fixed geometry wings exhibit sluggish roll responsiveness at low speeds and hypersensitivity at high speeds, complicating control and making low-speed approaches difficult.
2. Pitch Trim Limitations: Traditional pitch trim systems only adjust the control bar's trim position, limiting optimization to a single flight speed and complicating control at speed extremes.
THE CORSET System
THE CORSET system offers a more intuitive alternative to pitch control by adjusting the wing's geometry to match the desired speed. It modifies the central tension of the wing's rear sail, allowing in-flight adjustments to optimize performance and handling.
Technical Mechanism
The system uses a hoist to exert lateral traction on the wing, altering its shape. Kevlar strips transmit tension, and a V-shaped keel pocket maintains the profile. A hand crank controls the hoist, allowing for aerodynamic efficiency.
Advantages of THE CORSET
Slow Speeds: High billow and twisting enhance roll maneuverability and lift, facilitating safe, steep approaches.
High Speeds: Reduced billow and twisting improve stability and aerodynamic performance, allowing for higher speeds with reduced drag.
Conclusion
THE CORSET system effectively combines ease of use with enhanced performance, allowing the wing to adapt dynamically like a bird's wing, optimizing for each phase of flight.

THE CORSET The current state of technology 1/ Responsiveness in roll of fixed geometry flexwing depends on the wing’s flight speed, which is sluggish at slow speeds and jittery at high speeds. For modern machines with a wide speed range this leads to very poor maneuverability at low speeds that prohibits practical operation, and leads to hypersensitivity in roll at high speeds making control difficult, or even dangerous. In addition, low speed approaches are not recommended. In practice fast wings are unable to make slow approaches and land in a short distance, especially in turbulent conditions...

Innovation THE CORSET In action Slow speeds : Approach and landing The billow of the wing is very high, allowing for significant differential movements and providing the best handling roll. Twisting of the wing tips is also at maximum, the central part of the wing stalls first to ensure safe and predictable handling in large angles. The central profile is concave, providing the best ratio of lift and ensuring the lowest possible minimum speed. The increase in the billow and twisting increases drag, which is favorable under conditions of steep approach. Tension released : Twisting wing tip, Increased...

High speeds : Trips, Navigation, strong wind Tension increased : Increased twisting in general Decreased prominence of central profile Increased central reflex Billow decreased Center of thrust retracted. This configuration creates : Reduced drag Effortlessness in low pitch, roll stability AND increased speed cruise The billow is very low, providing perfect stability without the commitment of roll movement. Twisting of the wing tips is minimal, providing the best aerodynamic performance of low angles. The central profile is relaxed, ensuring the preservation of perfect pitch stability despite...
