Fuel anti-icing additive ICE-5

Fuel anti-icing additive ICE-5

Product catalog summary
Product Description
ICE-5 is a fuel anti-icing additive designed for turbine fuel, functioning as a fuel icing inhibitor. It is mixed with fuel at a concentration of 0.10% to 0.15% by volume. In aircraft without a fuel heating system, ICE-5 prevents the freezing of small amounts of free water in the fuel, which can block fuel lines, filters, and valves. Additionally, it inhibits bacterial growth in fuel tanks.
Properties
  • Physical state at 20°C: Liquid
  • Colour: Colourless
  • Odour: Characteristic
  • Final boiling point: 194°C
  • Density: 1.02
  • Vapour pressure at 20°C: 0.13
  • Solubility in water: Complete
  • Flash point: 96.1°C (ASTM G93)
Packaging
ICE-5 is available in 500 ml aerosol sprayers with a tube and clip, 1-liter bottles, and 200-liter barrels.
Certification
ICE-5 complies with ASTM-D4171-03 and is produced according to MIL-DTL-85470B and MIL-DTL-27686 standards.
Application
Proper mixing of ICE-5 with fuel is crucial. Direct addition without mixing can lead to separation. Aerosols with flexible tubes and clips are provided for direct dosing during refueling, ensuring effective mixing at the recommended rates of 0.10% to 0.15% by volume.
Safety
  • Review the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before use.
  • Shelf life: 36 months

Fuel anti-icing additive ICE-5-1

Fuel anti-icing additive ICE-5 Meets ASTM STANDARD D4171-03 and MIL-DTL-85470B and MIL-DTL-27686 Product description ICE-5 is a fuel anti-icing additive for turbine fuel and works as a fuel icing inhibitor. ICE-5 is mixed in the fuel at rates of 0,10% up to 0,15% by volume. If the aircraft has no heating system for the fuel, small amounts of free water in the fuel can freeze and block fuel lines, filters and valves. Properly used ICE-5 will prevent icing of the water in the fuel system. A positive side effect of ICE-5 is the inhibition of bacteria-growth in fuel tanks. Application Careful mixing with the fuel of ice-inhibitors, such as ICE-5 DiEGME is very important! Just pouring the product in the tanks will result in insufficient mixing and separation of the inhibitor with the fuel. For direct addition at refueling, ICE-5 aerosols are very handy. The aerosols are delivered with a flexible tube and a clip for direct dosing in the stream of jet fuel coming out of the nozzle. ICE-5 is usually mixed in the fuel at rates of 0,10% and 0,15% by volume. Safety - Review the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before use. - Shelf life: 36 mon
