SIGMA 10 – Epic XC Flying The end of April is coming up: that’s when the SIGMA 10 will appear on the market. It continues the story of the legendary SIGMA series. This high quality XC-Intermediate with an aspect ratio of 6.16 and 66 cells finds itself in the centre of the C category. The new ADVANCE flagship combines outstanding performance with sporty dynamic and classy looks: the perfect outfit for epic cross country days out. ADVANCE SIGMA 10 – Epic

New Sportiness The Cross Country Sportster is the result of an extensive development process. A new set-up has completely freed SIGMA 10 design from its predecessor, and enables it to reset a genuine performance benchmark in the C class. A new profile provides both balanced pitch behaviour and a high degree of directional stability, encouraging relaxed flying on long transits. Even so, the SIGMA 10 has pleasantly spritely handling, allowing the pilot to relish the wing’s sporty nature. Pure flying fun is guaranteed. ADVANCE SIGMA 10 – Epic X

11 % fewer lines thanks to a new line setup Less lines, more performance: even with 7 more cells the SIGMA 10 has 11 % fewer line metres compared to the previous Sigma. The resulting performance boost is clear to see. The latest uncovered Edelrid Magix Pro aramid lines are very lowstretch and far outperform conventional covereds in terms of strength and kink resistance. In addition they are very mainte nance-friendly, and the double coating process gives them exceptional resistance to outside influence. ADVANCE SIGMA 10 – Epic X

Complex Sliced Diagonal Structure Despite the 10 % increase in cell count the total of support points has reduced by 15%. Sliced Diagonal technology makes this possible. This design technique provides perfect load sharing and distribution within the canopy. Extensive cloth preparation processes, and alignment of the fabric weave according to local stress direction results in a complex, but very robust, criss-cross diagonal strip structure – which is also very light. This system also keeps the profile-retaining ribs in shape. ADVANCE SIGMA 10 – Epic X

Innovative 3D-Diamond-Shaping The SIGMA 10’s 3D-Diamond-Shaping is a completely new component-preparation feature. A diagonal alignment rule included in the 3D-Shaping now compensates for the seam gathering in a better way because of the use of vertical rib tensions, as well as the horizontal aerodynamic forces. This technological advance p roduces an even smoother wing surface at the aerodynamically sensitive leading edge region. ADVANCE SIGMA 10 – Epic

Latest State-of-the-Art Technologies The SIGMA 10 has a number of the latest performance-enhancing State-of-the-Art features such as Advanced Air Scoop technology for well-behaved stall characteristics, C-wires for maximal profile shape retention and miniribs for a smooth trailing edge. Two-stage speed system The two-stage accelerate system permits a personal setting of speed bar travel and loading. The changeover point from an easy-going 3:1 ratio to the more direct 2:1 can be set to suit an individual’s leg length and desired foot position. Combined with the high quality Ronstan ball bearing pulleys the long and a ccelerated transits that feature in long distance flights can be relatively effortless. ADVANCE SIGMA 10 – Epic

Speed Performance Indicator ( SPI ) The SPI is not just a simple way to choose best speed to fly, but indicates a speed relationship to the glider’s polar curve in flight. It also helps the pilot to best set up the speed system with the harness in a harness stand. 10 ADVANCE SIGMA 10 – Epic X
