Escape Path Marking LED Seat Mounted EPM System FEATURES • Long Life LED Light Sources • Easy Retrofit of Existing Floor Mounted Systems • Flush Mounted Aisle Markers to Eliminate Damage from Luggage and Carts • LED Lighting with Multi-Voltage Input Capability (6 to 28 VDC) • Full Installation and Certification Support Available PRODUCT APPLICATION SYSTEM COMPONENTS • The Astronics DME LED Escape Path Marking (EPM) System provides floor lighting and exitdoor identification to passengers and crew evacuating an aircraft in limited visibility. • The Electronic Control Modules (ECM’s) provide the independent power to illuminate the lighting elements, monitor and activate the system, and maintain the charge readiness of the batteries. • Each system installation consists of seat-mounted white or red LED Aisle Markers, LED Exit Signs for doors and escape hatches, independent electronic power supplies, and interconnecting wire harnesses. The Astronics DME EPM System is well suited for new aircraft installation, or to retrofit existing incandescent floor track or seat mounted systems. • Custom wiring harness assemblies interconnect the EPM system to the aircraft electrical buss providing system and LED lighting element activation. These assemblies are specifically designed to fit each aircraft model and interior to minimize system weight and installation time. • To accommodate retrofit installations where the existing battery power supplies are left in place, the Astronics DME LED Aisle Markers and LED Exit Signs are designed to accept an input voltage range of 6 to 28 VDC with modification. This regulation feature allows direct compatibility with most DC voltage systems and prevents wrong voltage installation errors in mixed system fleets. • LED Aisle Markers in white or red are installed on the inboard side of selected aisle seats to provide a wellilluminated path to the exit doors and hatches. The LED Aisle Markers are flush mounted to the seat structure and will not be damaged by galley carts or luggage. • The Astronics DME EPM system complies with FAR 25.812 and 25.853 & 25.562. The system also holds FAA approvals on various aircraft models and configurations. • White or Red LED Exit Signs are installed adjacent to all exit doors and hatches to provide evacuees with both illumination and visual cues
