28 VDC Motorized Valves UTC Aerospace Systems offers 28 VDC motorized stainless steel ball valves with low pressure drop levels. Pulse width modulation is available on selected models only. Control Cables and Gear Boxes The Control Cable, Handle Assembly and Gearbox Assembly provide the mechanical means for opening the Potable Water System (PWS) tank fill valves. These components are typically accessed from the aircraft’s external service panel. To operate, the control cable handle is rotated 90° counterclockwise from its detented closed position, and the handle is then pulled, opening the fill/overflow valve. The heaters are controlled by an electronic thermostat (ESTAT™ Controller) with fault sensing which reduces size and weight while offering effective temperature control. Fill Caps and Adaptors The Fill Adapter and Cap Assemblies are installed on the aircraft’s external service panel and provide a means for attaching the potable water service truck to the aircraft’s potable water storage tank. The Fill Adapter is designed to mate with standard aircraft potable water service vehicles and is configured with an attached Cap Assembly that isolates the potable water system from outside contamination.
