Innovation in Aerospace Manufacturing & MRO Fast Accurate Measurement - Logging Si Customised Data Analysis The MM1 □ Digital Measuring System is a rugged handheld measurement data logger with customisable statistical and mathematical data analysis capability. The MM1 □ can connect to a large range of measurement gauges using an RS232 communications port. The MM10 can store 1000 readings and download them in a Microsoft Excel readable file storage and further data analysis. The MM1 □ allows the user to auto zero and read measurements remotely. The standard MM1 □ displays the current reading and a rolling average on its two line LCD display. The user also has the ability to scroll through previous stored measurements. To special order the unit can be supplied with customised statistical and mathematical analyses. Advanced Analysis As an example Airbus UK use the MM1 □ to optimise the settings of their Electroimpact automated riveting machines. The machines automatically drill and countersinks holes and inserts rivets which must be flush fitted to the aircraft skin, minimising drag and improving aerodynamic efficiency. During the set up the operator uses an MM10 to take and record a number of rivet head height measurements, the average of these measurements is then used to automatically calculate the optimised settings for the Electroimpact machine.
