Catalogue excerpts

Engineered for Demanding Applications CHEMFILM DF1700 and DF1900 are heat bondable multilayer cast fluoropolymer films produced using a proprietary process. These films have a PTFE core with a thin layer of FEP or PFA on one surface. Double bondable (DB) films are also available with PFA on either surfaces or FEP on one surface and PFA on the other surface. Laser markable (LM) films are also available. Septa Pharmaceutical compounds and analytical samples, such as for water testing, cannot be contaminated by its packaging. DF1700 is used in Septa applications due to the bonding ease with other plastics and rubbers when specially treated, as well as the fundamental chemical inertness of pure PTFE. With its multilayer construction, reducing the risk of pinholes, DF1700 acts as an excellent barrier film in various Septa applications. High Performance Bags For applications requiring the highest degree of purity and chemical inertness, DF1700 is designed to meet you application needs. With the thin layer of FEP or PFA, this film can be bonded to itself, producing a fluoropolymer bag, absent of foreign material. With a reduced risk of pinholes and other routes of potential contamination, DF1700 is the product of choice for high performance bagging applications. Cast Film can be used as a barrier film Multi-layer Cast Film (top) reduces risk of contamination when compared to skived film (bottom) Advantages • Thin Gauge- 0.5-5 mils available • Isotropic shrinkage and tensile properties • Multilayer • Heat bondable surface can be sealed onto itself; PTFE, PFA or FEP • Reduced risk of pinholes • Fluoropolymer construction • Slitting available • Superior performance in a wide range of chemical, thermal and electric environments Availability • Available as master rolls up to 38.5” wide. Minimum quantities apply • Also available as slit material • Different polymers, pigments and additives can be used in individual layers
